Book purchasing for departments

WA Treasury rules recognise that the purchase of "a group of items (assets) is a library" and that "general, financial management information systems do not contain sufficient information to identify these assets" which should therefore be recorded in the catalogue (the assets register). The Library will therefore order on behalf of departments from departmental funds and catalogue items worth that level of effort.

To request a book to be bought, we require: details of the book wanted and the cost centre details; signoff (by email is fine) from the budget holder for that cost centre, with confirmation from the relevant business manager (again an an email trail that shows the sign-offs is fine).

Searches on a topic

The librarians will search for you on any work-related topic. Just complet a request form (or phone or email). You will be given a list of references (not the articles themselves). You can then select the ones that interest you and download or print any full text articles from the Journals A-Z listing. Search results can be provided to you in an EndNote library if that is helpful to you.

Teaching

The librarians are happy to teach skills in using the databases, other eResources, EndNote. Contact us to make a time that suits (individual or group sessions available).
